Liverpool host Roma in the first leg of what is a mouth-watering tie in the Champions League semi-finals. Mo Salah will be looking forward to facing his former club as he looks for his 42 goal in 46 appearances this season. The Egyptian king start in a front three alongside Sadio Mane and Bobby Firmino as the three forwards look to do to Roma what they did to Manchester City at Anfield.
In midfield, Jordan Henderson will captain the side alongside Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain and James Milner as the English trio look to provide energy and dynamism to the Liverpool midfield.
Trent Alexander-Arnold continues at right-back after an impressive run whilst Virgil Van Dijk and Dejan Lovren partner up in the centre of defence. Andy Robertson is chosen to provide width from left-back and Lorius Karius starts in goal.
Three first-half goals put the tie out of the Premier League champions’ reach and Liverpool will be hoping for a similar start. They must be wary of the second leg however, as Roma showed against Barcelona they are more than capable of staging a comeback.
Kostas Monolas was the man who grabbed the all-important third goal in the quarter-finals and he will play a vital part again tonight as he looks to stop the Liverpool onslaught. He starts in front of the incredibly talented Brazil number one, Allison Becker and alongside Juan Jesus and ex-Spurs flop, Frederico Fazio.
In front of that back three starts, Alexsander Kolarov on the left with Alessandro Florenzi on the right flank. In the middle, Daniele De Rossi captains the side alongside Kevin Strootman and Radja Naingolan. Edin Dzeko and Cengiz Under aim to find the net at Anfield and secure that all important away goal.
