Horse Racing Tips Monday 16 July: O'Brien Filly Can Win At Killarney
10:15, 16 Jul 2018

It’s to perhaps the most picturesque of racing venues on these isles that this one run today, all the way down in Killarney on the shores of Lough Leane.

A seven-race card gets underway there at dinnertime this evening and it’s the final one of those affairs, a bumper over 2m1f  that looks worth getting involved in.

Diamond Hill tops the market this morning for the inescapable Willie Mullins and returns off the back of a lengthy absence. She made a winning debut in a similar affair to this before being outclassed slightly at listed level in Gowran Park on her last start.

There’ll be more to come from her but the combination of the different ground conditions and the lay-off to overcome make her opposable.

Beautiful Citi goes for Joseph O’Brien and has a similar profile, with two runs under her belt to date.

The first of those, at Tipperary, was an impressive forth given that she raced wide throughout and made some nice late headway.

Next was a winning appearance at Clonmel, under the same 5lb claimer as today, a cosy victory during which she seemed to relish firm underfoot conditions, which she’ll have again today.

That win came just over a month ago and she can improve quickly to win again with fitness on her side.

A single point win wager is advised with the current prices of 2/1 looking to underestimate the filly’s case a tad with fitness, ground, and recent form on her side.
