Morata Dropped As Hazard, Willian and Pedro All Start For Chelsea Against Qarabag In Champions League

There is no place for Morata in Antonio Conte’s XI for this afternoon’s clash against Qarabag in round five of the Champions League group stage. Chelsea will qualify from the group with a win in the game that kick off at 5pm GMT.

The game, being held at the Baku National Stadium in Azerbaijan sees Antonio Rudiger start as part of a back three alongside Cesar Azpilicueta who is captain and David Luiz. Luiz is recalled to the side having been left out of Chelsea’s last two league games in favour of Danish defender Andreas Christensen.

In midfield, N’golo Kante and Cesc Fabregas partner up in the middle of the park and will be flanked by Davide Zappacosta and Marcus Alonso.

The statistics certainly are on Chelsea’s side as all three previous encounters between English and Azerbaijani sides have seen the clubs from England record wins. Chelsea are also the last English team to win the competition back in 2012, when Didier Drogba bagged an equaliser and then scored the winning penalty in the Allianz Arena against Bayern Munich.

The full team can be seen below and you can keep up to date with the game via our match centre right here on the Sportsman.
