National League Fixtures: Oldham Travel To Torquay On Opening Day

The National League season commences on Saturday 6 August

The National League fixtures have finally been released as we are just weeks away from the beginning of the 2022-23 season.

Former Premier League club Oldham Athletic enter their first season outside the Football League in 116 years and their first test in the fifth tier of English football is a long trip down to Devon as they face Torquay United at Plainmoor. The Latics have had a tough time of it in recent years and with talk of a takeover looming, this term gives them a chance for a fresh start and hope of a brighter future.

Fellow relegated club Scunthorpe United will also be unfamiliar with the National League, having spent the last 72 years in the Football League and they will kick-start their campaign at home to Yeovil Town. Both clubs will be eyeing a quick return back to the EFL but they will face fierce competition from the sides who just missed out on promotion last term in Wrexham and Solihull Moors.

Wrexham, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, will undoubtedly be a force once again and their season starts with a home clash against Eastleigh. As for Solihull Moors, they will travel to Aldershot Town on the opening day and will look to have an instant impact to move past the play-off heartbreak they suffered against Grimsby Town at the London Stadium.
