Liverpool supporters will be waking up today with a jubilant spring in their step after Roberto Firmino’s last-gasp goal saw Jurgen Klopp’s men edge PSG in a 3-2 thriller at Anfield.
The win was Liverpool’s sixth on the spin this season as they maintained their impressive 100% winning start, while they have a prized three points on the board in a Champions League group that promises to be just as electric as Tuesday’s triumph over the French giants.
In the instant aftermath of Firmino’s winning goal the TV camera pans over to the touchline, showing an ecstatic Klopp with his fists clenched in celebration, however the Reds’ star man Mo Salah - who a few minutes earlier had been brought off for Xherdan Shaqiri - was seen hurling his water bottle to the ground in apparent anger.
The clip quickly spread on social media with many quick to question Salah's reaction to Firmino’s late winner, and why he seemed so frustrated.
One Twitter user wrote: “Why is Mo Salah so angry?”
While another user said: “Mo Salah in the background having a tantrum”
"Hummm everyone says Ronaldo is selfish and hates it when he doesn’t score the winners. Look at Salah’s reaction to Liverpool winning that late one! Team player that lad eh?." said @ianmckee58.
However, Liverpool supporters were quick to defend the Egyptian, as other slowed down clips of Salah's reaction shows that he had in fact been celebrating Firmino's goal, with his hands aloft in the air.
"Mo salah reaction was nothing but anger of a bad game he played he celebrated first," said @Amroon.
"Edited perfectly just to get the bad out of everything and for their view to shoot up. All agend(a) based, everyone always want the best to fall," wrote @anfieldcarey
No drama there then! Although the reason he threw the water bottle remains unknown. In truth it was probably just relief as he had given the ball away in the build-up to Kylian Mbappe's equaliser moments earlier.
