Reigning Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic has been confirmed to be a part of the dazzling Team Europe for the Laver Cup in September.
He joins Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray to complete the ‘Fantastic Four’ as part of the six-man team in the fifth edition of the Laver Cup which will be held at the O2 Arena in London between 23-25 September.
The Serbian will head into the tournament having just claimed his seventh Wimbledon title at the All England Lawn Club and it will be his first time competing since his last appearance in 2018 which was held in Chicago. Team Europe are so far undefeated in the Laver Cup and their chances of keeping the perfect record will be strengthened with the arrival of Djokovic.

Djokovic was pleased about making his return. “I’m really excited to be joining Team Europe again for the Laver Cup at London’s O2 arena in September,” he said.
“It’s the only competition where you can play in a team environment with guys that you’re normally competing against and to be joining Rafa, Roger and Andy – three of my biggest all-time rivals – it’s going to be a truly unique moment in the history of our sport.”
The 35-year-old, along with Nadal, Federer and Murray have come to be known as the ‘Big Four’ of tennis as they have collectively dominated the sport in the 21st century. The four legendary players have won 66 out of the past 76 Grand Slam titles on offer.
Team Europe captain Bjorn Bjorg is delighted to have the star quartet joining him at the O2 in two months’ time. “I don’t think I could have imagined having these four icons of the sport on one team together. I know they, like I, appreciate the significance of this moment and will be truly up for it. Each year our goal is to win. With Rafa, Roger, Andy and Novak on the team, I like our chances.”
