Mega money signing Ousmane Dembele has scored his first La Liga goal for Barcelona since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. The talented French youngster has been out for most of the season after rupturing his thigh muscle but is on his way back, finding form and fitness.
The both-footed winger hit his first league goal to put Barcelona ahead against Celta Vigo as they look to extend their record unbeaten run up to 40 games in total. The 20-year-old ran onto a flick ball from Paco Alacacer before letting the ball bounce and striking the ball into the far corner, past a helpless keeper.
Celta Vigo got themselves back into the game as Jonny struck and equaliser heading into the half-time break. You can follow the rest of the game via our match centre below.
Dembele has struggled to adapt to live in the Spanish city after joining from Dortmund for £103 million. He was billed as Neymar's replacement which is a big profile for a young player to fit into and injuries have prevented him from playing his best football. The French winger seems to be proving himself as the season progresses however and next season is expected to be a breakthrough season for Dembele. Despite the lack of goals, he has contributed with seven assists in all competitions, as well as one goal in the Champions League, and he will be looking to add to this tally in the last few games of the season.
He will be pleased to get this particular monkey off this back and silence some of his critics. What a way to score your first La Liga goal, you can watch it below.
