Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho claims that French World Cup Winner Paul Pogba is happy to be back at the club after a hectic summer.
Pogba has been linked with a move to Barcelona and those rumours will persist until the transfer window closes in La Liga.
It's being claimed that Mino Raiola, Pogba's agent, was looking to drive a move for his client yet Pogba has remained diplomatically silent as the affair goes on.
Last season it appeared that Pogba's relationship with United boss Mourinho was under strain because of disagreements about tactics. Then during the World Cup, Mourinho seemed to be unimpressed by his player during the World Cup campaign as he appeared as a TV summariser in Russia.
The former Juventus midfielder only returned from training on Thursday despite the fact many of his colleagues including Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford cut short their summer holidays so they could join pre-season training.
Speaking to reporters about Pogba, Mourinho said: “My perception, he arrived Monday, happy, proud, a desire to work. He worked amazingly well Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. He’s one of the players that I have to speak to, to see how physically and mentally he feels.
“It’s the same conversation as with (Ashley) Young, (Marouane) Fellaini, (Jesse) Lingard, it’s the same."
Pogba is not expected to start for United in their Premier League opener against Leicester City tonight but Mourinho explained: "If they feel they can help us (against Leicester) – 20 minutes, 10 minutes, half an hour. We don’t have many solutions and want to go with everything we have,” he said. "We have to try and get the best out of every player.”
