Phil Taylor may have retired from darts, but Peter Wright looks like picking up his mantle as being the most 'spikey' of players on the circuit.
The Scotsman lost out to the World Champion 7-4 in week 3 of the Premier League Darts in Newcastle and Wright was none too happy at the end.
Refusing to shake hands with Cross at the end of the game, which was Cross's first win in this year's Premier League, it's not entirely clear what had rattled the Scot. Cross himself is clearly bewildered and can be seen asking 'what did I do?'.
Plenty of fans took to social media to pour scorn on Wright, with comparisons to Phil Taylor who was notoriously grouchy especially towards the end of his career.
Some claimed that Cross was throwing his darts too quickly after Wright had picked his out of the board, but it hardly sounds like something to get worked up about. Perhaps Wright was taking his defeat extra badly after stunning Michael van Gerwen last week!
Also last night, Michael Smith beat Mensur Slijovic 7-2 and there were also wins for Michael van Gerwen 7-3 over Gary Anderson and Simon Whitlock 7-4 over Raymond van Barneveld. Smith and Whitlock top the standings having won all three of their matches so far whilst the other game of the night between Daryl Gurney and Gerwyn Price ended in a 6-6 draw.
The Premier League Darts continues next Thursday 22nd Feb with the tournament's first visit to Germany, in Berlin's Mercedes-Benz Arena.
