After another thrilling round of Premier League football at the weekend, we’re back into the madness once again with a number of midweek ties heading our way on Tuesday and Wednesday.
With more incredible games to look forward to, we’ve compiled some stats to help you find the best value in the betting this week.
Leeds United vs Nottingham Forest
When: Tuesday, April 4
Where: Elland Road
Kick-Off: 7.45pm
Betfred Match Odds: Leeds 4/5, Forest 7/2, Draw 13/5
This will be the first time Leeds have hosted Forest in the top-flight since 1999. Steve Cooper’s Forest ran out 1-0 winners when the sides met in February, courtesy of a 14th minute Brennan Johnson goal, and the visitors will be looking to complete the double over Leeds for the first time since the 2013/14 Championship season.
Forest aren’t the best on the road however, and have the joint-fewest away points (6), fewest away goals (4) and have lost their last three away visits.
AFC Bournemouth vs Brighton & Hove Albion
When: Tuesday, April 4
Where: Vitality Stadium
Kick-Off: 7.45pm
Betfred Match Odds: Bournemouth 5/1, Brighton 8/15, Draw 16/5
Brighton have failed to beat Bournemouth away since a 2-0 victory in 2007. In fact, the Cherries have won their last four at home against Brighton, including all three in the Premier League.
These two sides are at very different ends of the table now though, and Europa League chasing Brighton, who won 1-0 in the reverse fixture this season, can complete a league double over relegation scrapping Bournemouth for the first time since 2007/08 in League One.
In terms of scorers, Brighton have a number of players currently in fine form in front of goal. World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister, Solly March and Kaoru Mitoma all have three goals in their last five and are worth considering to score anytime on Tuesday night.
When: Tuesday, April 4
Where: King Power Stadium
Kick-Off: 7.45pm
Betfred Match Odds: Leicester 7/5, Villa 9/5, Draw 12/5
Managerless Leicester City will be looking to bounce back from a weekend defeat to Crystal Palace and adapt to life without Brendan Rodgers when Aston Villa come to the King Power Stadium.
Villa have a woeful record when it comes to playing Leicester away from home, with just two wins in their last 13 visits (D5 L6). Their last win at Leicester came in October 2020. However, the Foxes have also failed to score in their last two home meetings with Villa and have lost five of their last seven Premier League matches on their own turf, more than they had in their previous 19.
Eight of the last 12 contests between these sides have gone over 2.5 match goals, with nine of these seeing both sides score.
When: Tuesday, April 4
Where: Stamford Bridge
TV: Sky Sports Main Event/Sky Sports Premier League
Kick-Off: 8pm
Betfred Match Odds: Chelsea 6/4, Liverpool 7/4, Draw 12/5
The last five encounters across all competitions between these two have ended in draws and the last three were 0-0. Liverpool have never drawn against the same opposition six times, while Chelsea last did so against Burnley between 1954 and 1956.
Despite defeat, Mo Salah added to his tally against Man City this weekend and now has 12 goals to his name in the Premier League, with four goals coming from his last four.
West Ham United vs Newcastle United
When: Wednesday, April 5
Where: London Stadium
TV: Sky Sports Main Event/Sky Sports Premier League
Kick-Off: 8pm
Betfred Match Odds: West Ham 23/10, Newcastle 23/20, Draw 12/5
West Ham’s home form will be key to them beating the drop this season and they come into this encounter with high-flying Newcastle on the back of an unbeaten run of five Premier League games at the London Stadium, winning three - as many as they had in the previous 12.
Newcastle will provide stern opposition if the Hammers want to keep that run going though. The Magpies have lost just one of their previous 10 Premier League games on their travels, and have lost the least away from home compared to any other side in the league. They’re also good value when they play in the capital, and haven’t been beaten in any of their four trips to London this season.
Head-to-head, six of the last seven contests between West Ham and Newcastle have seen both teams score.
Manchester United vs Brentford
When: Wednesday, April 5
Where: Old Trafford
Kick-Off: 8pm
Betfred Match Odds: Man United 3/5, Brentford 9/2, Draw 3/1
Following a stunning 4-0 win on home soil when these two sides met at the beginning of the campaign, Brentford can complete a league double over Manchester United for the first time since 1936/37 on Wednesday night.
Though the Red Devils aren’t in the best form right now and are without a win in their last three, they do boast some incredible home form. Erik ten Hag’s side have lost just one of their last 22 games at Old Trafford. United are also on the longest unbeaten home run in the league, having avoided defeat in their last 12, stretching back to their opening day loss to Brighton.
The last three meetings between these sides have each seen at least over 2.5 goals, although only one of those games saw both teams score
