PREVIEW: Moldova Host Wales In Crucial Qualifier
15:00, 05 Sep 2017

Kick-off: 19:45 BST

Venue: Stadionul Zimbru

Following the 1-0 win over Austria at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday evening Chris Coleman’s Wales team head to bottom of the group Moldova for a vital game in the race to qualify for next Summer’s World Cup.

With two points between the Republic of Ireland and Wales in Group D, only a win for the Welsh Dragons will suffice in Moldova on Tuesday night. The aim for the Chris Coleman’s men will be to obtain a second-place finish in Group D at the expense of Martin O’Neil’s Republic of Ireland team, some optimists in the Welsh ranks may have hopes of a first-place finish in the group but that would take an incredible collapse from group leaders Serbia.

Chris Coleman will have Joe Allen and Neil Taylor available for selection again following suspension after the pair missed the win over Austria. It is expected that Allen and Taylor will seamlessly slot back into the starting line-up for Tuesday night’s game, the pair are vital players for Chris Coleman. A big dilemma for the Wales manager will be if Saturday’s match winner, Ben Woodburn comes into the starting line-up or if the 17-year-old retains his place on the bench after that sublime substitute appearance against Austria. Hal Robson Kanu could also come into the side for Burnley’s Sam Vokes to lead the line in the other selection dilemma for Wales boss.

The Welsh Dragons are unbeaten in Group D but have five draws to their name and only two wins, the win over Austria could prove to be a vital momentum boost as the Dragons head into this must win game away from home. Wales’ opponents, Moldova are winless in Group D and have two points to their name. Chris Coleman will be expecting to take maximum points from their trip to Moldova ahead of the final two group games.

Prediction: Moldova 0-3 Wales
