Raheem Sterling Boasts Scintillating Statistic That Puts Eden Hazard, Harry Kane And Mo Salah To Shame

Raheem Sterling put in an incredible performance this afternoon as Manchester City tore apart Southampton in clinical fashion, the game eventually finishing with the score 6-1. The English forward was at the top of his game providing two assists and scoring two goals on an incredible night for the current title holders.

Sterling combination play with Sergio Aguero and David Silva caught the eye as Southampton simply could not deal with City’s flamboyant front line as they took their total goal tally for the season up to 33. That’s an average of three goals per league game and if they continue at that rate they will end the season having scored 114 league goals, eight more than they managed last year, in what was a record goalscoring season for the Premier League.

Sterling looks set to play a key part in every City move going forward and is clearly highly rated by Pep Guardiola and his playing staff. He now has contributed to the joint-most goals in the league this season, having scored six goals and assisted five, giving him 11 goal contributions in total.

The in-form Eden Hazard, by comparison, has seven goals and three assists (10 goal contributions before the Crystal Palace game), whilst Mo Salah has five goals and three assists (8 GC). Even fellow English forward Harry Kane cannot keep up with these statistics having also scored six goals but bagged just one assist.

Only teammate Sergio Aguero is level with Sterling on goal contributions this campaign having got on the scoresheet seven times while providing four assists. City certainly look in fine form again this season and could simply be a class above the rest. One thing is now without argument, Raheem Sterling is absolutely quality.
