Rio Ferdinand Shades Jose Mourinho And Celebrates In Front Of Stony-Faced Michael Owen - And Manchester United Fans Love It

Ferdinand jubilant, Owen not so much.

Manchester United are still up in Cloud 9 after adding yet another famous European night to their jam-packed jukebox.

However, it appears that not everyone associated with the Red Devils enjoyed the stunning 3-1 victory over PSG on Wednesday night.

Step forward Michael Owen.

The striker-turned-pundit sported the Man Utd shirt 52 times between 2009 and 2012, famously scoring a last-gasp winner in the 4-3 triumph over neighbours Man City - widely regarded as one of the most enthralling games in Premier League history.

Owen did, of course, start his career at Liverpool where he hammered home 158 goals in 297 appearances before a surprise switch to Real Madrid, and judging by his actions in the BT Sport Studio last night his loyalties still lie with the Merseyside club. After all, he is a Liverpool international ambassador, supposedly.

The 38-second clip, posted on twitter by @btsportfootball, shows an ecstatic Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves reacting jubilantly to the decision to awarded Man Utd a last-gasp penalty.

“Ahhhhhh!!! Come on!!!,” roars Rio after the referee points to the spot.

“Come on!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA. Whoooo!! “Let’s go!"

Rashford proceeded to thunder the ball home and sent United through to the quarter-finals.

Gary Lineker, Hargreaves, and Rio all celebrate, before the latter aims a sly dig at former United boss Jose Mourinho.

“Yeah!!!!!! Come on!!! Get out! Character, that’s what it’s about, the young lads coming in the team and playing. Sitting back and defending the whole time, it don’t happen here. Yes Ole!”

In stark contrast Owen was slumped in his chair, arms crossed, stony-faced - and Manchester United fans were absolutely loving it.

Michael Owen is clearly not a fan of Man United. He celebrated more when Barcelona beat PSG 2 years ago!   (@Habeeb_Akande)

Michael Owen looks delighted (@paddyboy39)

Wasn’t it only a few weeks ago he was telling Liverpool players to snap Rashfords ankles? (@Nick_MUFC_)
