Roma are bidding to turn around a first leg deficit in tonight's Champions League last-sixteen clash with Shakhtar Donetsk but they will have to do without Lorenzo Pellegrini and Rick Karsdorp through injury at the Stadio Olimpico.
There was further bad news for the hosts as Gregoire Defrel still hasn't recovered from the injury that has caused him to miss the past month of action through injury.
Eusebio Di Francesco's men took the lead through Cengiz Underin the first leg in Ukraine but contrived to throw away an advantageous position as second-half goals from Facundo Ferreyra and Fred gave Shakhtar a valuable win on home soil.
Ferreyra has been an influential player for Shakhtar this season, scoring 27 goals and providing four assists, although several key players are missing for the visitors this evening.
The Ukrainian side are without Sergiy Kryvstov, Maksym Malyshev and the suspended Darijo Srna for tonight's second leg in Rome, with Shakhtar bidding to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2011, when they actually beat Roma 6-2 on aggregate at this stage of the competition.
Roma haven't reached the last-eight since 2008 but they go into this second leg off the back of successive wins over Napoli and Torino in Serie A.
