Royal Birth Fancied To Go In At Lingfield
10:49, 12 Dec 2017

David O’Meara’s Alsvinder heads to Lingfield today to take his place in the lineup for the 14:10 - Betway Dash Handicap over the minimum trip.

He’s an all-weather specialist, with his record on artificial surfaces reading: (1121) and he’ll surely be warmly supported this afternoon as a sprinter in fine fettle. He’s got a nice draw in three and should bolt out and take things by the scruff of the neck, as is his want.

He takes a step up in class today though and we’re opting to take him on with another specialist operator. A minimum trip around here is just the ticket for Stuart William’s inmate, Royal Birth, he’s 2-2 under those conditions.

He came back from a break to finish down the field in a hotter contest over further at the same course last time, but, back in calmer waters, he should go close. From his wide draw in nine, Aaron Jones can tuck him in at the back, swing around the turn and aim for the strong pace that should be set by Alsvinder.

At 5/1 he rates as an each-way bet and shouldn’t be finishing outside of the front three.

Shamshon, who goes for the same connections, and Gracious John are among the other the contenders.
