The rules have been released for the much anticipated Floyd Mayweather versus Nasukawa bout set to take place in Japan on New Year's Eve.
The 'fight' will take place as part of the Rizin 14 card which will also see Bellator campion Darrion Caldwell face Kyoji Horiguchi which promises to be an exceptional fight.
Mayweather, who was last seen beating Conor McGregor in a similar cross sport exhibition over a year ago will fight the Japanese kickboxer over three rounds with straight boxing rules. There won't be any judges and the fight won't have an official status and the fight that nobody called for feels a bit like when Rocky Balboa took on Hulk Hogan in Rocky III!
Fight Rules In Full:
- 3 rounds
- 3 minutes per round
- Straight boxing rules
- Both fighters will wear Rizin 8 ounce gloves
- Weight: 147lbs / 67.7kg
- No judges
- Full contact competition but the bout won't go on any official boxing or MMA records
Floyd Mayweather has dubbed the fight:
"Nine minutes of entertainment.... I'm in the entertainment business"
There won't be an official winner or loser of the fight if it goes the distance with there being no judges, but it's sure to bring in some glitz to the Rizin 14 card.
Nasukawa is unbeaten in 27 kickboxing bouts and has also been speaking about the fight.
"I would like to make a big impression. I want to get the whole fight community, the whole country of Japan and the entire world involved in this fight."
Mayweather has an unbeaten professional record and with nothing on the line here bar some personal pride and wodge of cash, it'll be interesting see how many tune in for the fight on New Year's Eve.
