American golfer Russell Henley lit up day two of the Masters at Augusta National, as he produced a stunning 82-foot putt to bag himself an eagle three on the 15th hole.
Henley had started the day on +1 after a 73 on Thursday, and he suffered a helter-skelter round two on Friday as at one point he found himself eight shots off the lead on +5, but his sensational long-range putt gave him a huge boost as he looked to avoid the cut.
Two birdies, four bogies and a double bogey in his first 14 holes had seen Henley plummet down the leaderboard, but he produced a real moment of magic on the par-5 15th to give his scorecard a huge boost.
Having left his approach shot a long way from the hole, he stood above his ball and stroked the ball towards the hole, and Henley would've just been happy to give himself a good chance of making a birdie four.
But, as the ball trickled towards the hole the patrons began to get excited, and as the ball smoothly rolled into the cup there was an almighty roar that reverberated around the 15th green, and Henley lifted his arms up in the hair and celebrated one of the shots of the 2018 Masters.
With only a few holes remaining in his second round, Henley will be hoping he can use that stunning putt as a catalyst to booking his place in the field for the weekend, and possibly producing a late surge into the reckoning at the top of the leaderboard.
