Should Celtic Be Worried? Steven Gerrard Furious With Rangers Players Despite Late St Johnstone Victory

Steven Gerrard continues to enjoy plenty of success in his first managerial job in Scotland but the former Liverpool legend is still not a happy man.

The Rangers manager was on the sidelines today as the Gers beat St Johnstone 2-1 to go just one point behind bitter rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table but his mood in the post match interview was dark to say the least.

The former England captain is clearly a man who expects plenty from his Rangers squad and he spent the entire afternoon on the touchline looking like he had the whole world on his shoulders.

When asked about the teams performance on BT Sport it is far to say that Stevie G didn't hold back...

The first 45 minutes, i wasn't happy. It was a poor performance, we were awful....I let me feelings known very clear at half time. We shouldn't have to work that hard to win at places like this, with all due respect.

It was clear that Gerrard was fuming with his players but he is clearly hoping that the team can produce a genuine title challenge this term with a game against Celtic just around the corner.

The win on the day was sealed by Alfredo Morelos who continued his remarkable season at the Ibrox club with a late winner to the delight of the rangers fans but the coach clearly wasn't feeling in a festive mood.

So far it has been a successful first job in management for Gerrard but you wouldn't know it!
