Soccer Saturday Team In Hysterics As Link To Reporter Goes Badly Wrong

Soccer Saturday Team In Hysterics As Link To Reporter Goes Badly Wrong

It takes something pretty special to make Jeff Stelling lose it.

A consummate professional and unflappable host of Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday since 1994, Stelling has years of experience of dealing with the occasional blooper and technical breakdown. Years of working with Paul Merson and Chris Kamara prove that.

But even Stelling lost it when handing over to Sky Sports reporter Bianca Westwood who was covering the Championship game between Millwall and Nottingham Forest - only for the camera to cut off her head. Regular viewers know the pair regularly share a joke but Stelling was at great pains to explain this was something that had nothing to do with him. Westwood, a veteran of the Saturday football panel show since the year 2000 and well-known West Ham United supporter, took it all in her stride.

The regular panel of experts - Matt Le Tissier, Charlie Nicholas, Phil Thompson and of course Merson - were all floored by the confusion and thankfully Westwood saw the funny side. Stelling tried the link again and this time viewers could see Westwood's head and order was restored. Stelling crouched down for the return link and normal service was resumed.

On a day when there were few goals being scored across the Championship, it proved to be one of the most entertaining aspects of the first 45 minutes. Expect to see this on the Sky Sports blooper reel for years to come - it takes something special to upstage the likes of Kammy and Merson.
