Liverpool went top of the Premier League table after recording a 1-1 draw against Arsenal in a compelling top-4 clash at the Emirates.
The Reds were made to rue an incorrect call from the officials as Sadio Mane’s first-half goal should in fact have stood - as shown here - and if it had been allowed, who knows Jurgen Klopp's troops may have even gone on to win the game.
But, in the end, James Milner’s 50th Premier League goal was cancelled out by a late equaliser from Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, meaning the Reds may have missed out on the win but they did extend their unbeaten run to 11 league matches, and in the process jumped above Man City into top spot.
However, Twitter being Twitter, took aim at Liverpool midfielder Fabinho who made only his second Premier League start for the club since his £40 million summer switch from Monaco.
Fabinho playing as bad as his facial hair. Which is an absolute disgrace. [@paddypower]
Manchester United have had the chance to sign Fabinho 3 times since José Mourinho’s been in charge and he’s turned him down on every single occasion and I can now see why. He’s just a Copacabana Mark Noble. [@Vintage_Utd]
Haven't seen anything to suggest we missed out on much with fabinho.
Too early to call him a samba cleverley ? [@kennagq]
Exquisite dink ball by fabinho ends up in the stands . Chemotherapy Cattermole [@blurt2kc]
Sometimes I think klopp forgets he has 3 subs he can use... awful decision to leave fabinho on [@___Fletcher____]
Torreira by far a more influential and a better player than Fabinho, can't believe Liverpool fans actually thought he was superior. [@CFCMod_]
If Jordan Henderson played like Fabinho did there, there’d be a million think pieces being written as you read this. [@stehoare]
Fabinho is a complete waste bag. Just a Bakayoko without hair [@NSkinzy]
Let's discuss guys. How did Liverpool sign fabinho ? [@Iam_t_wizzy]
