A much-loved Spurs striker of yesteryear has labeled Harry Kane "the world's best striker at this moment in time."
Robbie Keane, who was guesting on Sky Sports, was full of praise for the England skipper on a night when he achieved two major personal milestones.
"He's tremendous - he's already an all-time great," said Keane.
"I'm sure he'll stay at this club for a long time - he loves it here. There is no question that he can get to Jimmy Greaves' record.
"What I like about Harry is that he keeps doing it when everyone is talking about him. He keeps banging the goals in. When you speak to him, he gets annoyed that people keep mentioning it but he keeps coming on the pitch scoring goals. For me, at this moment in time, he is the best number nine in the world."
Kane became Tottenham Hotspur's fourth highest goal scorer in history after scoring a first-half penalty against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final tonight.
On Friday night, Kane drew level with Cliff Jones on 159 goals to hold the joint fourth spot on the all-time Spurs goalscorer list but he nudged ahead in the list thanks to that VAR-awarded goal.
Kane has now scored at least 20 goals in five straight seasons.
Keane added: "He's got everything. He can hold it up, bring in players, come off, run in the channel and he scores different kinds of goals as well. That's just not by fluke by the way, when he was a kid he'd practice with the senior players after training - left foot, right foot, crosses, headers.
"Every type of goal he scores is different. He has the natural ability of course but he's worked hard on it."
