Spurs Have No Chance Of Playing At New Stadium Before April

It's looking increasingly likely that Spurs won't be able to play in their new stadium until April, reigniting suggestions that they won't play at the venue until next season.

The game against Crystal Palace on March 17 had been talked about as the game which would kick off this new chapter in Tottenham's history. But because of Crystal Palace's continued involvement in the FA Cup, they will be in quarter final action and the date of the game has been pushed back again.

The change could see Spurs with a pretty quiet March. Spurs play Arsenal on March 2 at Wembley before an away fixture with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League three days later. On March 9, Spurs are away at Southampton but after that it's a long wait until their next game at Liverpool on March 31.

A statement from Tottenham said: "Following Crystal Palace’s FA Cup fifth round win today, our Premier League clash at home against Palace scheduled for Sunday 17 March will have to be rearranged."

Spurs have held a couple of events to showcase the stadium to a small number of fans but several 'test' events need to be held before the stadium is granted a safety certificate.

As the wait goes on, more footage has emerged of the new stadium from Tottenham fan Chris Cowlin who has been providing regular video updates about how the work is progressing. His latest videoes have shown how the huge video screen on the outside of the ground has been installed and tested.
