Michael Dawson will go down in the history books as being a firm fans favourite at White Hart Lane and the ex Tottenham skipper endeared himself to Spurs' fans further when covering the Champions League match between his old club and Juventus.
Having fallen 2-0 behind after just nine minutes, Spurs came back to secure a 2-2 draw and Dawson could not contain his excitement.
Tottenham were caught like rabbits in the headlights in Turin, Gonzalo Higuain slipping his markers to score a sublime volley in the first three minutes, adding a second in the ninth minute from the penalty spot. After that however it was pretty much one-way traffic from the away side who controlled possession and carved out chance after chance.
Harry Kane made it 2-1 after rounding Gianluigi Buffon, his ninth goal in nine games in the Champions League this season.
The second half saw Spurs continue to knock on the door before Christian Eriksen wrong-footed Buffon to score from a free-kick with twenty minutes left on the clock, much to the delight of Michael Dawson in the Sky Sports News studios. Now at Hull City, Dawson exclaimed "I told you he (Eriksen) was going to put it in that corner". The 34 year old played 236 games for Spurs including in the team that got to the quarter finals of the Champions League back in 2011.
The tie is finely poised going into the second leg at Wembley on the 7th March, with the bookies making Tottenham favourites to reach the quarter finals.
