Steve McClaren is on the verge of the sack at Queens Park Rangers after the Hoops lost their fourth consecutive Championship match on Tuesday night, as they lost 3-0 at home to Bristol City.
Hammered 7-1 by West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, McClaren was already coming in for significant criticism as the west London club kicked off their league campaign with three defeats and sat bottom of the Championship. However, defeat at Loftus Road this evening to a previous winless Robins side in front of a sparse home crowd will see McClaren's reign at the club come in for enhanced scrutiny, as QPR have made the worst start to a league campaign in their history conceding 13 goals in their opening four matches.
The former England boss only took over the manager's job in May 2018, as he followed on from Ian Holloway, but life started negatively for the experienced manager as they lost 1-0 to Preston North End on the opening day of the season, while that was followed by a 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United in their second game.
But, the weekend defeat to a rampant Baggies left many questioning the appointment of McClaren, and they would have expected a significant reaction to Saturday's loss on Tuesday night, but goals from Matty Taylor and a brace from Andreas Weimann handed Bristol City their first win of the season and their first away win since December 2017, and it duly left those fans left in Loftus Road showing their displeasure with the team by exiting the stands with a chorus of boos, and many will feel that they want to see the back of McClaren before things get worse.
