“Steve McClaren To Real Madrid!” - Former England Manager Showered In Praise Following Stunning QPR Transformation

Steve McClaren endured an appalling start to life at QPR, losing each of his opening four league matches as the R’s suffered their worst ever start to a season.

As you can imagine the former England manager was savagely torn to shreds, but to his credit he’s now orchestrated a remarkable turnaround at Loftus Road, and one few could have envisioned.

QPR, who were previously rock-bottom of the Championship, have now stormed up to 7th - one point off the top-6 - following a superb run of seven wins from 11 games, including three victories on the spin after Friday night’s 1-0 triumph over Aston Villa.

QPR’s defence has rightly been singled out for special praise after keeping six clean sheets in those 11 league games, while they are the first second-tier side to prevent Villa from scoring this term.

As a result, McClaren has been transformed from a risible figure to one who is receiving plaudits from all angles, and we’ve plucked out some of the best tweets for you below:

Remember when Steve McClaren was getting hammered because QPR had a bad start to the season. Tonight they could be in 7th, 3 points off top of the league! [@jamesyboi87]

You have to take your hat off to Steve McClaren. What a remarkable turnaround after a disastrous start to the season. Proving to people he is still a top coach. #QPR #hoops [@danwright82]
