It is likely that none of these will progress into superstars but an intriguing Juvenile Hurdle none the less.
Previous winners Adams Park and Lord Caprio are the two vying for favouritism at the top the market and look the pair to focus on.
The first mentioned looks likely to go off favourite at this current time after improving on his debut third at Stratford to win by 4l. He was plenty green enough still that day but managed to recover from a serious blunder 2 out (not his first of the race) to pull clear on the run in.
There is no doubt Dr Richard Newman trained three year old has a sizeable engine but he will need to brush up on his jumping if he is to pose a serious threat to the selection under a penalty here and looks a risky proposition.
In contrast, Lord Caprio jumped extremely well to win by a similar distance as his rival on debut, he travelled like much the better horse and put in a faultless round of jumping at Hexham over today’s distance. He himself did not look the finished article that day and showed signs off greenness, but the manner in which he was able to quicken up of a slow gallop on the first circuit was nothing less than impressive.
Go Now Go Now is likely to set off from the front again along with Sam Twiston-Davies’s mount and can apply some pressure to exploit the weakness in his jumping.
Lord Caprio can be expected to improve for that debut performance and I think the odds compilers have the wrong horse at the top of the betting.
