If you are an obsessive football fan you will no doubt have watched the award-winning comedy Ted Lasso on Apple TV+.
The programme starring American comedic actor Jason Sudeikis has taken the world by storm since its debut in 2019. It has given us some beloved characters and a club we now feel we have some affinity toward, AFC Richmond.

Have you ever wondered what it might be like if you were to take charge of the fictional club and steer them to Premier League and perhaps even Champions League glory? Well now you can discover all these endless possibilities for yourself as the club, manager and players have all been added to EA Sports’ FIFA 23.
Fans will be able to play matches at the famous Nelson Road Stadium, the home of the Greyhounds, with American coach Lasso in the dugout, alongside his loyal assistant Coach Beard. Then of course there are the characters out on the pitch, including players like the gifted but gobby Jamie Tartt, no-nonsense midfielder Roy Kent and the constantly-smiling Dani Rojas.
He's proven he belongs in the game, now Ted Lasso and @AFCRichmond are playable in FIFA 23 starting September 30.

EA have confirmed that AFC Richmond can be used by players in a range of offline and online modes (Career Mode, Kick-Off, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons), giving fans a range of experiences to enjoy TV’s favourite football club in the world’s most famous footballing video game.
The Greyhounds will appear under the game’s Rest Of The World category, but they can be swapped to play in a specific league on Career Mode which is up to the decision and the imagination of the player.
Upon the announcement, Lasso actor Sudeikis shared his excitement with his likeness being in the game.
"I am truly fortunate, and deeply grateful, to have had many special moments in my career thus far, and I consider this experience among the best of them," he said in a statement. "As long-time fans of EA SPORTS FIFA, having Ted Lasso and the whole AFC Richmond squad incorporated into the newest version of the game is truly a dream come true for myself and the rest of the fellas."
