Manchester City host Wolves tonight as they look to keep the pressure up on title rivals Liverpool after the Reds bagged all three points at Brighton on Saturday. Jurgen Klopp’s men now boast a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table leaving City with work to do as Nuno Espirito Santo and his merry men visit the Etihad Stadium tonight.
There is certainly money to be made on Manchester City tonight as Guardiola’s men come off the back of a 7-0 and a 9-0 win. Those two wins came emphatically in the cups but we are back to league action tonight, last time out in this competition City enthralled us all with an impressive 2-1 over Liverpool in a massive game.
That 2-1 win meant that five of the last six Premier League fixtures at the Etihad have ended in a City win, with both teams scoring. That is priced up at 2/1 tonight which looks incredibly tempting given Wolves’ attacking talent and City’s defensive liability.
The only anomaly in those last six home Premier League games was the staggering 2-3 home defeat to Crystal Palace in which Andros Townsend thumped home the potential goal of the season. If you want to play this one a bit safer you could plump for the 5/4 available on both teams to score.
The last time City failed to score at home was at the end of last season when Huddersfield managed to hold them to a 0-0 draw with the league title already safely wrapped up. If you simply fancy the away side to score tonight you can back that at around 11/10. Wolves have scored in their last five away games in the Premier League and could cause a shock in Manchester tonight.
