The 3 Players Barcelona Should Sell - The Stars That Could Pique The Interest Of Arsenal, Everton And Liverpool
La Liga giants Barcelona have been busy during the January transfer window as they have secured the summer signing of Adrien Rabiot and are reportedly keen to add another defender to their ranks, while there might be a few players heading towards the Camp Nou exit during the next few weeks.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are keen to sell a few players in order to trim the wage bill and we take a look at three players who could be leaving the La Liga leaders this month...
The Barcelona midfielder is closing in on a transfer to Arsenal (according to Sky Sports) as he prepares for a reunion with manager Unai Emery, who knows Denis Suarez well from their time together at Sevilla. The 25-year-old looks certain to move on and he is unlikely to be missed by the Catalan giants as the Spaniard has played just 221 minutes in all competitions this term.
Arsenal have also been linked with the enigmatic Ousmane Dembele in the past too. The 21-year-old is capable of brilliance but he is an infuriating character as he has a habit of turning up for training and his attitude is questionable. Barca seem keen to persist with a player who is starting to produce the goods on the pitch - Dembele has scored 10 goals and laid on five assists in 22 appearances this season - and Arsenal would need to come up with a ridiculous sum of money to sign him!
Another Barca midfielder could be departing for the Premier League as Andre Gomes is currently on-loan at Everton and a permanent deal would suit all parties. The Portuguese star has been superb at the heart of the Everton midfield, albeit the busy Christmas period did appear to have an impact on his performances, and the 25-year-old could be available for around €25m. Gomes made 78 appearances for Barca after signing from Valencia in 2016.
The jury is still out on Philippe Coutinho as he has struggled to nail down a regular spot in the Barcelona first-team this season. The Brazilian has played in 22 games so far, scoring five goals and laying on four assists, and he has completed the full 90 minutes on just six occasions.
Patience is running thin and one can't help but wonder how things might have panned out if he had never left Liverpool twelve months ago.
Coutinho is 26 years old now and should be playing regular football as he enters what should be the prime of his career. It seems unlikely that he would be allowed to leave this month, but there is no doubt that this is a pivotal six months for his career in Spain.
