The Amazing Moment A Mountain Biker Leaps Over The Peleton In The Tour De France

The 2018 Tour de France is well into its second week and although we've seen plenty of crashes and road art, this mountain biker has provided the most audacious moment of the race so far.

The incident occurred during Tuesday's Stage 10 between Annecy and Le Grand-Bornand, the first real mountain stage in the Alps. The riders seemed pretty oblivious as the daredevil rode down the hill from the left and leapfrogged across the road and the half dozen or so riders at the front of the race.

We can't see what happened to him, but presumably he landed safe and is somewhere heading down a hill towards Lake Annecy.

The action hots up in this year's Tour, as the main General Classification contenders come to the fore in the mountains. Tuesday's stage has three category one climbs plus the Montee du plateau des Glieres which uncategorised and ridden off tarmac!!

Team Sky's Geraint Thomas has a good chance to take the yellow jersey at the end of stage 10, going into the race 43 seconds behind race leader Greg van Avermaet, whilst Chris Froome is 1m42 back in eighth place.

Froome remains the short priced favourite to win his fifth Tour de France and continue his astonishing form having added the Giro D'Italia to his CV earlier in the year. Sky have claimed that both Froome and Thomas are both leaders of this team, but the next few days will give us a better idea about that.
