Leeds United continue to be the story of the season in the Championship with Marcelo Bielsa breathing new life into the club.

An already brilliant campaign got even better on Sunday afternoon for the Elland Road side as they produced a miracle comeback to beat Aston Villa 3-2. The success means that the Yorkshire team go into Christmas on top of the table and the bookmakers believe that a return to the Premier League is inching ever closer as a result.

The Championship winner market has been a popular one all season but it is turning into a three horse race with Norwich and West Brom the two clubs chasing Leeds as it stands.

It is the team in white though who are clear favourites at this stage with the former Champions League semi-finalists now as short as even money (from 6/4) to win the title and with it gain promotion back to the Premier League.

The triumph against Aston Villa was even more remarkable given that they came back from being 2-0 down inside the first 17 minutes away at one of the toughest venues in English football at the minute.

The Leeds fans will be hoping that it was the performance of champions and that view is certainly backed up by the latest odds for the team to lift the famous trophy in May.

There is clearly plenty of work ahead for the Leeds squad and Marcelo Bielsa, but the bookmakers aren't often wrong in these matters which means we could be seeing one of the biggest clubs in the country back in the top flight next season.
