Gerard Pique is one of the most decorated players in Spanish football history for both club and country, but everyone's due an off day, right?
The Barcelona centre back was left red-faced following his dreadful attempt at a clearance gave La Liga strugglers Leganes a 2-1 lead on Wednesday night.
Ahead through a Philippe Countinho goal, top of the table Barcelona looked in cruise control against bottom club Leganes who have just one point from their first five matches this season. But second half goals from Nabil El Zhar and Oscar Rodriguez Arnais, who capitalised on Pique's mistake have given Los Peperinos a surprise lead.
Under what appeared to be very little pressure, Pique's skewed clearance fell straight at the feet of Arnais, giving Leganes a second goal in a minute and turning the match on it's head.
In front of a small but fervent crowd at Estadio Municipal de Butarque, the goal sent the home supporters into raptures and onto the verge of one of their biggest results in the club's history.
Leganes v Barcelona live score.
Nicknamed, The Cucumber Growers, it was Pique who was left to feel like a bit of a vegetable. With Barca and Real Madrid locked at the top of La Liga with four wins and a draw apiece, a slip up against Leganes could prove pretty costly for Ernesto Valverde, even at this early stage.
Real Madrid face a tricky match away at Sevilla later on Wednesday.
Bedlam! @3gerardpique won't want to remember this. @oscararnaiz10 picks up the loose clearance, and @CDLeganes lead @FCBarcelona by two goals to one.
