The Most Wanted Winger In The World? Liverpool And Chelsea Continue Mega Transfer Race For American Superstar
Christian Pulisic continues to be the most talked about young star in European football with the race to sign the young American player hotting up ahead of the January transfer window.
The Borussia Dortmund winger has long been highly touted as one of the most exciting talents ever to emerge from the United States and it does now appear that a move to the Premier League is on the cards.
The Telegraph are reporting that the Dortmund stance is starting is starting to soften with regards to Pulisic and that Chelsea and Liverpool are the two interested parties.
The German team are clearly loathed to let one of their key assets run his contract down too much further, with his current deal expiring in 2020 and that £70m would be enough for their to let Pulisic go as a result.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with the American winger in recent weeks, especially with doubts surrounding the future of Eden Hazard at the club, who was the subject of intense speculation with Real Madrid during the summer.
The other suitor, according to the story, is Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp considering a raid on his former club to nab the 20-year-old. The other pointer for the Anfield club is their American owners who must be positive on bringing a fellow countryman and potential superstar to Merseyside both for his footballing ability, and his marketing potential Stateside.
As it stands, a deal in January for either team looks hugely unlikely, with Dortmund fighting on all fronts but we can expect the race for one of the best young players in the word to hot up next summer.
