Aiming to put some of the fastest players in football through their paces, host Ben Haines has recruited Scotland and Chelsea midfielder Erin Cuthbert, and jack-of-all-trades, the man who currently seems to be everywhere at once, Jermaine Jenas, formerly of Newcastle and Spurs and now a fixture on Match of the Day and BT Sport, to bring an exciting new podcast series to the airwaves.

Representing sportswear colossus adidas, the guest line-up kicks off with Manchester United hero, ‘world class footballer and world class person’ Juan Mata. The sensational Spaniard sets the tone by discussing his early years, the reciprocal love for the Red Devils, ‘a special night in Munich’, the multitude of trophies alongside other career highlights and so much more.

Brilliantly, on a twist on the usual setup, the guests produce their own intros as they arrive to be grilled by the trio. To close the show, Jermaine and Juan go head to head in the 'Fast Is Too Slow' challenge in honour of the new X Ghosted boots. The head-to-head sees their individual playing stats (reaction times, ball control, and, of course, speed) being brought to the table. The podcast doesn’t let up with the enjoyment, with the second episode starring Arsenal winger and Curthbert’s compatriot Lisa Evans. Tariq Lamptey and Max Aarons are clocked in in the near future.

“What I have loved most is that personal feel,” said Jenas, “You get to feel their personality and get to talk about their history.”

The podcast has been launched in order to celebrate the launch of the new X Ghosted boots, with just a couple of episodes being released thus far.
