The Statistics That Prove Manchester United Are The Best Team In The Premier League Right Now
It’s true. On current form, Manchester United are the best team in the Premier League. New boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has turned the ship around and the difference between his side and the one we saw under Jose Mourinho is simply remarkable, with the players now full of confidence.
No side has won more points in the league (19) than Manchester United since Solskjaer took over on the 19th December. That’s right, United have outperformed Liverpool and Manchester City since Solskjaer came into the club. It gets even better for United fans as they have also scored more Premier League goals than any other side in that time period with 19. Attacking football is back at Old Trafford!
Those goals are not a fluke either, Solskjaer’s men have created more chances than any other side in the Premier League since he arrived, with 87. The creativity of Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba, in particular, has gone through the roof since the Norwegian arrived back in Manchester.
It is not just the attacking unit that has improved under the former striker, amazing the defence has become strong once more. In a statistic which Mourinho would have been proud of, Solskjaer’s side has conceded just six goals in the league since he arrived, the lowest in the division.
This has been an incredibly enjoyable six weeks of football for Man Utd fans who have enjoyed some brilliant football from the new manager. They just wish they pulled the plug on Jose Mourinho sooner...
