The Ultimate Premier League Combined XI: The Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea (And West Ham) Stars Of The Season

The Sportsman social team produced a cracking tweet earlier this week as they asked our Twitter followers to name their Premier League XI of the season so far. However, the team selections came with one caveat - you can only select a maximum of one player from each team.

Some of our followers struggled to comprehend the rules but there were some cracking teams named and we've put together our best side in a 4-4-2 formation.

What do you make of our selections? Let us know your thoughts and your best XI...

Ben Foster (Watford)
The 35-year-old is arguably in the form of his life and he is surely the best English goalkeeper in the Premier League. He may even be the best in the division on current form and he would be pushing Jordan Pickford hard for that England No. 1 spot if he hadn't retired from international football.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace)
The 21-year-old full-back has been a revelation for Palace this season and he is surely going to be one of the most sought after players in Europe when the transfer window reopens this summer.

Lucas Digne (Everton)
Lucas Digne has been the one Everton player to rise above the stench of mediocrity at Goodison Park this season and his delivery from set-pieces has been impressive.

Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
Simply superb. Next.

Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham)
Toby Alderweireld looked to be on his way out of Tottenham last summer but he has been immense for Spurs this season. The Belgian gets the nod ahead of Heung-min Son and Harry Kane as our Tottenham player in this team.

Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth)
Consistently picked in 'Underrated XI's', Ryan Fraser has been exceptional for Bournemouth this season, scoring five goals and laying on nine assists for his teammates.

Declan Rice (West Ham)
West Ham's 20-year-old has performed superbly in a defensive midfield role this season and he just gets the nod ahead of Wolves' Ruben Neves in the centre of our midfield. Rice is likely to be in demand this summer.

Paul Pogba (Manchester United)
The villain of the piece during the early part of the season, Paul Pogba has been revitalised since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho as Manchester United manager. Pogba has scored 11 goals and provided eight assists so far.

Eden Hazard (Chelsea
Chelsea's Eden Hazard seems increasingly likely to depart Stamford Bridge in the summer and one has to wonder how the Blues replace their playmaker. Hazard has been directly involved in 22 of Chelsea's 45 league goals, scoring 12 and affecting 10 assists.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal)
The Arsenal forward has been superb since arriving in England last January, scoring 15 goals in 25 league games this season alone.

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)
There is a danger of recency bias with this pick as Sergio Aguero has been in ridiculous form of late. The Argentine striker has scored 17 goals in 21 league appearances this season and he has to lead our attack.
