Liverpool may have been held to a 1-1 draw by Arsenal, but while Jurgen Klopp's title-chasing side weren’t able to grab the win at the Emirates, the point means that the Reds not only went top of the Premier League but maintained their impressive unbeaten start to the season.
The game also extended this quirky, yet quite remarkable, record of James Milner.
Liverpool fans knew from the moment the midfielder fired home a second-half goal to put the visitors ahead in the capital, that the club would simply not lose the game, and that proved to be correct.
Why?
Well, when Milner finds the back of the net in the Premier League, he simply doesn’t lose.
You did read that correctly, whenever he’s scored in England’s top-flight he’s never been on the losing side - it’s now just inevitable that he'll be undefeated.
On Saturday he propelled his tally to a landmark 50 Premier League goals, which have taken place in 49 MATCHES, and resulted in 38 wins and 11 draws.
Not once has he lost.
This staggering tally of goals in unbeaten games has stretched a whopping 16 years for five clubs - Liverpool, Man City, Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Leeds - dating back to 2002 when he bagged his first goal for Leeds at the tender age of just 16.
Milner unsurprisingly tops the pile for this particular statistic, which is unlikely to be challenged anytime soon.
Darius Vassell is next on the list on 46, followed by Tottenham’s Dele Alli on 33, former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou (32), while Oyvind Leonhardsen completes the top-five on 28.
