Thomas Pieters is one of Europe's finest golfing talents, but he can also be known to lose his temper on a golf course, and it was the latter that propelled the Belgian into the limelight on Friday afternoon as playing the par-5 4th hole in the second round of the BMW PGA Championship, the Ryder Cup star was not happy with his approach shot, and went on to snap his club around his neck in a fit of rage.
At the time Pieters was struggling on +5 after bogeying two of his first three holes, and sitting over ten shots behind leader Rory McIlroy the frustration got to him, as having played what he felt to be a poor iron shot, he went on to wrap the club around his neck and in the process snap his club into two.
He managed to make par on the hole, but it was a sign that Pieters game was not in a good shape after he had carded a +3 round of 75 in Thursday's first round, and the start to his second round saw him fall way below the cut, and it was on hole four that his frustrations just got the better of him.
It's something amateur golfers around the world have felt like doing after playing a far from impressive shot, but many would certainly not have strong enough neck muscles to break the club, but Pieters showed not only is he strong with a golf club in his hand, but his also a bit of a beast when it comes to body strength.
