Top 5 Most Outrageous Things A Manager Has Done After Winning A Football Match
10:53, 08 Dec 2017

Earlier this week Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca was responsible for a moment of pure craziness as he turned up for a post-match press conference with a Zorro mask on.

The Portuguese manager was clearly in jubilant spirits after his side became the first team to beat Manchester City this season.

We decided to look back on five other mad things managers have done in light of guiding their teams to victory:

Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique wakes sleeping journalist

Then Barcelona boss Luis Enrique was in good spirits after watching his team dismantle Valencia 4-2 in March this year.

The Spaniard was waxing lyrical about his players when he spotted a journalist trying to catch forty winks during the press conference.

Enrique proceeded to address the sleepy soul in a rather comical manner, admitting it was the first time something like that had happened to him.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte works up quite an appetite

The Blues might’ve been imperious on the field during last season but it seemed that their manager had forgotten to eat whilst masterminding his team’s dominance.

After thrashing the 2015-16 champions Leicester City 3-0 the Italian was less interested in talking about the game and more keen on tucking into some cake.

A journalist was busy enjoying the sweet treat in the corner of the room when Conte demanded a slice of the desert.

Sean Dyche answers ringing phone and shows off his small talk prowess

Burnley manager Sean Dyche was in such a jubilant mood after his side’s 2-1 win against Leeds United in March 2014 he answered a journalist’s ringing phone and proceeded to chat about plans for the evening.

At the time the unknown person on the other end of the line was probably glad the Clarets had won given Dyche’s usually no-nonsense demeanour.

That caller was later revealed as the father of Kieran Richardson, who was plying his trade with Fulham at the time.

Comparison to Italian designer sends Conte into laughing frenzy

Italians are no stranger to fashion with some of the most well-known designers originating from the European country.

A certain comparison to Giorgio Armani after Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Crystal Palace in December last year sparked Conte into fits of uncontrollable laughter.

The label had been proposed to the former Juventus boss after he had started with a clothing analogy of managers needing to work much like tailors.

Mourinho sets world record for shortest press conference

Manchester United might have been focusing on the Europa League final a few days later but no one envisaged just how keen Reds manager Jose Mourinho would be to jump on a plane to Stockholm.

After watching his side wrap up the domestic season with a comfortable 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace the Portuguese boss spent all of 11 seconds in the press room before making a beeline for the exit.

First-half goals from Josh Harrop and Paul Pogba ensured United finishing the season on a winning note at Old Trafford.
