Tottenham Hotspur Fans Fume As Side Capitulate To Inter Milan In Champions League Opener

Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 loss to Inter Milan in the opening game of their new Champions League campaign left the Lilywhites shell-shocked.

With just five minutes to go of normal time, Spurs threw away a one goal lead to concede two goals in the space of five minutes.

And with Barcelona waiting in the group, the result hasn’t gone down well with Spurs fans with a stuttering start to the new season that has seen Tottenham lose three consecutive games for the first time under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

‘Chokers’. ‘Bottle-jobs’. And other phrases of the less dignified variety. These are some of the comments swilling around social media at the moment.

One Twitter user @SniperSonaldo7 took the opportunity to suggest that midfielder

‘Heung Min Son wished South Korea lost so he didn't have to put up with this sh*t’'

after the Korean recently won the Asian Games to avoid military service.

@JonnyAirborne seems resigned that the age-old chants will be levelled at Spurs:

‘it’s the same old Tottenham that’s what they’re going to say’,

whilst @sbrownstortford even put forward bringing back former manager Glen Hoddle to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

Most fans seem to be in an udder state of confusion, perfectly surmised by @Shedly01 stating:

‘I don’t understand, same players, same shape ball, same manager, same coaching team, same training ground,...........not the same team!!’

Spurs will know that the worst is yet to come as Arsenal fans will be milking their cross-city rivals’ capitulation as they look forward to their own European tie - albeit in the Europa League - this week, whilst Spurs fans seem to now have some serious beef with Pochettino’s operation of the side.
