Tyson Fury made his long awaited return to a ring this evening and the former unified heavyweight champion of the world made relatively short work of his unknown opponent.
The Gypsy King was fighting for the first time since defeating Wladimir Klitschko in Germany back in 2015 and his opponent Sefer Seferi was like a lamb to the slaughter against a man much taller and heavier. The Manchester Arena crowd were on their feet as Fury made his ring walk and he looked supremely confident as the bell went for the first round.
The pair exchanged funny looks, dancing and smiles through the early stages of the bout with the size difference between the pair almost comical.
Fury was clearly looking to get some rounds in on his comeback which meant it was disappointing to see Seferi quit on his stall at the end of the 4th round. The decision was met with a number of boos in the Manchester Arena but he had clearly had enough having felt the power of the former champion on a number of occasions.
Fury showed glimpses of his talent on his comeback but much tougher test lie ahead and he is going to need to improve sharply over the next year if he is to have a chance of claiming back what he believes is rightly his.
Seferi was a game opponent while it lasted but this has left the fans wanting more with a spot on the Carl Frampton under-card at Windsor Park on August 18th the date for the next step on the comeback trail.
The fight wasn't the most intersting but the pre fight kiss may have just stolen the headlines...
