Arsenal fans are enjoying life under Unai Emery as the Spanish gaffer leads them through a purple patch of form in the Premier League and the Europa League. The Gunners are unbeaten since August and had won 11 games in a row before Crystal Palace held them to a draw at the weekend, but they are looking to get back to winning ways as they take on League One side, Blackpool.
Arsene Wenger failed to win the League Cup during his 22-year spell at the club but his record in the FA Cup was sensational as he lead his side to a whopping seven titles. Unai Emery will be hoping to bring silverware to The Emirates in his first season at the club and with the League Cup being the first trophy up for grabs, it could be the one he focuses on.
The Gunners have a real chance of winning this trophy if you look at Unai Emery’s outstanding club trophy record. In the last two seasons he has won both domestic cups in France, the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue with a strong PSG squad. Before that, he was the king of cup competitions in Europe as his Sevilla side won an incredible three Europa Leagues in a row, a feat that he will once again be trying to replicate with Arsenal this term.
His trophy-winning pedigree is undeniable and Arsenal fans would love for the Spaniard to bring continued success to North London. The League Cup may be just the right place to start.
