Unsuspecting Duisburg Keeper Concedes A Goal As He Takes A Drink

Football is a beautiful game, but every now and then it serves up a comical moment, and Duisburg goalkeeper Mark Flekken will not want to watch back his calamitous error on Saturday afternoon, as the Dutch stopper conceded a goal against Ingolstadt in the 2. Bundelsiga as he nonchalantly went to take a sip of his drink, and wasn't aware of what was happening on the field of play.

Duisburg had taken the lead in the early part of the game, but with the ball up the other end of the pitch, the goalkeeper decided to just turn his back on the game, and slowly walk into his net to take a swig from his bottle.

However, what occurred over the next few seconds was an embarrassing turn of events for Flekken, who is sure to become an internet sensation over the coming days.

Ingolstadt launched the ball from the right-back position towards the Duisburg 18-yard box, and the central defender for the home side just naturally nodded the bouncing ball to where his goalkeeper should have been, but the defender was left motionless, as he saw his keeper had turned his back on the game, and was just about to bend down a take a sip of his drink.

But, while Flekken was unaware of what was going on, Stefan Kutschke, who had earlier missed a penalty in the match, just latched on to the bouncing ball, and poked the ball home from two yards to even things up, and leave a red-faced Flekken to watch in horror, as his mistake handed Ingolstadt a comical equaliser.
