Welcome to The Sportsman’s continued live coverage of the Betfred Challenge Cup in 2023, with a potential upset on the cards as fifth-tier Hull Dockers host League 1 side Midlands Hurricanes at Hull Kingston Rovers' Sewell Group Craven Park home.
Our live coverage will begin at 2:30pm, with kick-off at 2:45pm.
The National Conference League Division One outfit saw off Rhondda Outlaws with ease 54-10 in the first round, but next up they face the tricky proposition of a Midlands side who won their opening League 1 game 40-6 against Cornwall last Sunday live on The Sportsman.
Dockers have a number of players who will be on familiar ground at the home of the Super League Robins, with Chris Heil, Dave Scott, Matty Beharrell and Tom Whur all former Rovers youngsters. Meanwhile, they have a very familiar name in that part of the world in Paul Fletcher, who is the son of the Hull KR legend of the same name who racked up 464 games for the club between 1988 and 2005, making him the second-highest appearance maker in Rovers history.
But the Hurricanes will be guarding against a potential upset this weekend as they travel to face a club two tiers below them in the amateur ranks, with kick-off at 2:45pm. They will also be looking to back up a positive first season in Birmingham now that they have moved to the showpiece Alexander Stadium, home of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Live and exclusive coverage will be available on The Sportsman and The Sportsman Rugby League on YouTube from 2:30pm.
Sunday's match is the third of at least 20 matches set to be broadcast live on The Sportsman in 2023. You can catch the match live on this page from 2:30pm, with a simultaneous live stream on The Sportsman Rugby League YouTube channel.
