Zenit St Petersburg needed a miracle tonight if they were to stay alive in the Europa League.
The Russian team needed to overturn a four-goal deficit from the first leg against Dinamo Minsk.
A first-half goal game them some hope and when they got a second, things were really starting to look promising. But then they had a player sent-off and the mood changed again.
Yet they produced an amazing finale to take the game to extra time and Artem Dzyuba wrapped up his hat-trick.
Ghanian striker Seidu Yahaya threw a spanner in the works with a goal for Dinamo Minsk but the home team were not to be denied their fairytale finish.
Amazingly they went on to add four goals in extra time to complete the most unlikely of comebacks. Robert Mak also got on the scoresheet with goals in the 121st and 123rd minute.
The reaction on Twitter from the fans and the club itself was one of total disbelief. "Did that actually just happen? From 4-0, @fczenit_en have won the second leg 8-1 and progressed to the next stage of Europa League! In part, thanks to Argentine star Driussi (22), who scored the goal to make it 5-5 and put the hope in everyone's heart" tweeted @sidelinescouted.
The club's official Twitter account posted: "Artem Dzyuba got a hat-trick and we go through to the next round of the Europa League 8-5 on aggregate after being 4-0 down from the first leg. Who doesn't love football!?! #ZenitDinamo #UEL
