Watford Pile Pressure On ''Snake Silva'' With Win Over Everton

Watford Pile Pressure On ''Snake Silva'' With Win Over Everton

Marco Silva's first return to his former club Watford was one the Portuguese manager will want to forget.

Now with Everton where he is in the middle of a dismal run, Silva saw his new team beaten 1-0 at Vicarage Road and the odds on him being the next manager to be sacked have been cut again.

Famously, Watford fans took inflatable snakes along with them to the corresponding fixture at Goodison Park to show their feelings for their former manager. He replaced Sam Allardyce at Everton but having had his head turned midway through the season, Watford's season never really recovered and the Hornets fans have never forgiven him.

Fans waited to greet Silva and his team as their coach pulled up at the stadium this lunchtime and they made their feelings quite clear inside it too. Inflatable snakes were again in evidence as well as posters and signs aimed at their old boss showing that time is not always a healer.

Some messages included: "MARCO 30 pieces of SILVA" and "Silva is a mug."

Silva had guided the Hornets to sixth after a four-game unbeaten start before Everton were linked with him as a potential replacement for Ronald Koeman.

Now it seems Everton fans are getting disillusioned with Silva too. In the wake of today's result, Toffees fans were all over Twitter like a cheap suit to show their unhappiness at recent results.

Silva was allowed to invest heavily during the summer but the results this season have been worse than under Sam Allardyce, a man who was so intensely disliked by the majority of Everton supporters.
