Watford’s star man Richarlison is on the cusp of following in the footsteps of former Hornets boss Marco Silva in what will be a blockbuster switch to Premier League rivals Everton.
Silva, who replaced Sam Allardyce at Goodison Park earlier this summer, is all set to splash the cash in order to resign the Brazilian, with whom he purchased from Fluminense a year ago for £11.2m, after he caught the eye at the under-20 World Cup.
Fast-forward to this summer and that price tag has now reportedly soared to a staggering £50m meaning the 21-year-old will subsequently become the most expensive outfield Brazilian player in Premier League history.
Dean Jones, a Football Insider for Bleacher Report, reports that Richarlison is now on his way to Merseyside for a medical.
Everton smashed their transfer record last summer after buying midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea for £45m, however Richarlison’s fee will surpass that of his future Icelandic teammate.
Richarlison enjoyed a stunning start to life at Watford, as he terrorised defenders throughout the opening half of the campaign, but tailed off in the New Year following a lack of confidence, with his last goal dating back to October.
However, if he can rekindle and then sustain that sparkling form, he’ll be a real asset at Everton, who are determined to break back into the top-6 under new boss Silva following a four-year absence.
Earlier in the summer Wayne Rooney signed for D.C United, while the likes of Conor Grant, Joel, Ramiro Funes Mori and Shani Tarashaj also departed.
He scored 5 goals last season
