Who Are The Favourites For The Men's Crown At Wimbledon?

Novak Djokovic is chasing a fifth successive championship at Wimbledon

The French Open is reaching its decisive stages at Roland Garros and that means that we are just a few weeks away from returning to Wimbledon. The third Grand Slam of the year gets underway in just under a month and already Betfred have priced up the favourites to win the Men’s Singles Championship in south west London.

Novak Djokovic claimed his seventh crown at the All England Lawn Tennis Club last summer by defeating Nick Kyrgios in the showpiece on Centre Court. Will the Serbian win his eighth? Or will someone else taste glory on the iconic grass surface?

Novak Djokovic - 11/10 (FAV)

Heading to SW19 as the reigning champion has Djokovic as the clear favourite this year. The Serbian has had his setbacks in recent times due to his Covid-19 vaccination status but that hasn’t stopped him from winning majors, having also claimed the Australian Open title in January. Should he win at Wimbledon again, it would be a fifth successive victory in the British Grand Slam.

Carlos Alcaraz - 4/1

The young Spaniard is one of the most exciting players on the ATP Tour and he already has experienced winning a Grand Slam as he prevailed in last year’s US Open. Alcaraz’s style of play is breathtaking to watch, something which will excite the Wimbledon crowd and get them on his side - and that could well work in his favour.

Daniil Medvedev - 7/1

Russia’s Medvedev is also a one-time Grand Slam champion. Like Alcaraz, he won the US Open, beating Djokovic in the 2021 final at Flushing Meadows. The 27-year-old has also featured in two Australian Open finals, in 2021 and 2022.

Matteo Berrettini - 10/1

Italian Berrettini is no stranger to the Wimbledon crowd, having contested the 2021 final against Djokovic. That was his only major final to date and, unfortunately, he has not been able to push on from that match two summers ago despite winning successive titles at Queen’s.

Jannik Sinner - 12/1

Berrettini’s compatriot, Jannik Sinner, is also on the hunt for a first Grand Slam title, but he hasn’t made it to a Grand Slam final in his career, and none of his career titles have been won on grass. It is going to take the performance of a lifetime for him to deliver his first on the surface at Wimbledon.

Nick Krygios - 14/1

Last year’s Wimbledon final was the closest Nick Krygios came to landing his first major title. It was his first Grand Slam final appearance but he was bested by Djokovic on the day. The Australian remains one of tennis’ most divisive figures for his on-court manner but he certainly puts on a show when he plays. Whether it's audacious trick shots or arguing with the crowd, you get your money's worth.

Alexander Zverev - 14/1

Alexander Zverev’s only major final appearance came in the 2020 US Open and he hasn’t won a title on Tour since 2021. He has not had any luck on grass, with none of his career titles coming on the surface.

Felix Auger-Aliassime - 20/1

Young Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime is an exciting young player who is still looking for his moment on the Grand Slam stage. All four of his career titles to date have come on hard surfaces and his best performance at Wimbledon was two years ago when he reached the quarter-finals.
