Who Are The Frontrunners For James Maddison's Signature?

Maddison is likely to leave Leicester City this summer

Following Leicester City’s relegation from the Premier League, there is expected to be several key player exits from the King Power Stadium over the summer. One of those likely to move on is England international James Maddison.

The attacking midfielder has been regularly linked with a move away from the Foxes over the years, and that looks to become a reality in the coming months.

Since their takeover, Newcastle United have been linked with Maddison almost every transfer window. With the financial resources at their disposal, along with their qualification for the Champions League, Maddison could be tempted with a move to St James’ Park. 11/8 on him joining the Magpies is tempting.

Tottenham Hotspur have held an interest in Maddison for a long time but so far they have refrained from making a move for the Leicester talisman. However, with Leicester relegated and needing to get some high earned off the wage bill, Spurs might swoop, hoping to get him at a bargain price. He is 2/1 to join the north Londoners.

There is no guarantee that Maddison leaves the King Power Stadium this summer. Leicester are the 5/1 favourites to win the Championship in 2023-24 and secure an instant return to the top flight. Maddison is 12/1 to stay at Leicester.

Erik ten Hag is looking to reshape his Manchester United midfield and the Red Devils are expected to be very busy this summer. Ten Hag is trying to secure Mason Mount from Chelsea who is also an attacking midfielder, so it remains to be seen whether the Dutchman would be looking to bring in two players to perform that role in his side. Maddison is 10/1 to end up at Old Trafford.

Maddison has flair that wouldn’t look out of place in Arsenal’s current set-up. Mikel Arteta will need to add to his squad to make sure the Gunners are competitive in the Premier League and the Champions League. Arsenal are 8/1 to sign Maddison.

Aston Villa are looking to build on a successful season under Unai Emery, who have secured Europa Conference League football for next term. Villa are likely going to be very active in the transfer market and Maddison would certainly add a different dynamic to Emery’s midfield options. Villa are 16/1 to sign him.
