Now a staple of any sports fan's Christmas, the William Hill PDC World Darts Championship will soon be here.
Alexandra Palace will soon be packed to the rafters with darts fans enjoying the festive spirit - and festive spirits - cheering on their favourite players.
A new trailer has dropped which will get the senses tingling ahead of the biggest event on the darts calendar. It has been inspired by the hit movie of last year - The Greatest Showman. But you may be disappointed to learn that Hugh Jackman doesn't star in this new trailer which has been cheekily titled 'The Greatest Snowman.'
Using the same opening music and a title sequence that parodies the movie, the trailer shows popular announcer John McDonald dressed as a snowman with his cane replaced by a huge dart. Billed as "the biggest party this Christmas", the trailer shows footage of crowd members dressed in their best festive clobber from previous years.
The PDC Championship kicks off this Thursday night, going through to December 23. It takes a break for Christmas and Boxing Day but is back on December 27 with the Final on New Year's Day. There will be 28 nationalities represented at this showcase event making it a must-see tournament for arrows fans around the globe. Tickets for certain days are still available though they traditionally sell out pretty quickly.
Dutchman Michael van Gerwen is the favourite to claim the World crown at 11/8 with Gary Anderson well fancied at 7/2.
Retweet to enter the chance to win two tickets to the 2018/19 @WilliamHill World Darts Championship FINAL!
